Josh grew up in Orlando, Florida discovering a passion for marching band, Jesus, and serving others. After some time working in media production at a few large churches, he felt the longing to make a difference beyond the consumer-focused show of Sunday morning and was either going to do communication work for a non-profit in Africa or become a pastor. Against all his better judgment, pastor won out.
He hit it off with his wife Laura (and fellow band nerd) on the dance floor of a friend’s wedding and they have been married since 2015. They are passionate about sharing life and faith with other people. One of the ways they do this is as licensed foster parents. Josh and Laura love enjoying meals with friends, exploring new places with their dogs Scout and Jovie, and visiting their families in western North Carolina.
Josh is a graduate of Florida State University and Luther Seminary. He currently serves as the Pastor at Common Table Decatur. Before that, he was a pastor at Lutheran Church of Hope in Ankeny, Iowa and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Josh’s passion in life and ministry is to cultivate and multiply disciple-making communities that bring God’s love to the world.
